Step-by-Step Procedure!
Lay Sheets Of Newspaper- For Smooth Grip!
Prepare a work area by spreading several sheets of newspaper across a level, solid tabletop that is large enough to hold the mirror glass before it is cut. By placing a sheet of newspaper down first, you may eliminate any rough spots on the table that might affect the cutting.

1. Clean The Tools and Mirror
Make sure to clean up the mirror thoroughly with a microfiber cloth and a glass cleaner. Clean all your tools as well, because the cutting efficiency will be hindered by any dust, grime, or residue.
2. Measure The Place & Mark Lines On Mirror
Measure the space where you are going to place that mirror. You can mark the with a marking pencil once you have measured it.
3. Place Your Mirror Carefully!
Using a framing square or measuring tape, determine the mirror’s dimensions by placing it straight on your work table. Keep in mind that if you’re planning on fitting the mirror into a frame, you should trim it. You can use a wax pencil to make a scribbled line along the cut line.
4. Score It With a Glass Cutter
To cut a mirror in half, place the glass cutter on the mirror’s surface, against the far end of the straightedge, and pull it towards you. Don’t smash the mirror by pressing down too hard on the cutter, but a light touch will not produce a good score either. When you use the appropriate amount of force, you’ll hear a “tearing” sound while scoring.
Note: Make one continuous motion from one end of the mirror to the other to finish the cut and avoid uneven edges. Try to avoid making too many scores!
5. Snap The Mirror
The glass must be broken along the scored line after it has been scored. Put away the straightedge and run a dowel along the entire length of scoring under the mirror, carefully. Put your palms on either end of the dowel and press down hard but carefully on the mirror.
6. Smooth Any Sharp Edges & Clear The Space
Use sandpaper to smooth the sliced mirror’s edges! It’s better if the mirror has a rounded edge so that it’s not as dangerous to hold.
Remove the mirror from the sanding area and put it aside before you begin cleaning up. Always pick up the newspaper from the outside to ensure that no shards of glass are left behind. Collect any glass fragments that may have fallen to the floor and clean off the workspace with a damp cloth.
